


Luther College's Center for Sustainable Communities, in partnership with Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative, is accepting applications for the 2016-17 AmeriCorps positions.
These service members will be working throughout schools in Northeast Iowa to promote healthier school environments through modeling and education. Responsibilities will include developing a youth leadership programs as well as supporting school gardens, among other things.
With training, members will be become a resource for school wellness committees in one or two districts and provide active programming that infuses healthy living into school culture.
Service members will receive a modest living allowance, travel reimbursement and an education award that can be used for higher education tuition or loan repayment. The term of service is Sept. 1, 2016 - August 31, 2017.
