Changes in the works for Decorah's Fourth of July observance

The Decorah Rotary Club will not be hosting their Fourth of July observance in Phelps Park this year, taking a break from the normally annual event.

The Fourth of July falls on the Monday of a three-day weekend this year and that schedule has raised issues for the club's programming of music and speeches. The Rotary Club will decide at a later date whether they plan to continue their observance in 2017.
