Over 400 people attended the grand opening for the Decorah Pool's new water slide Wednesday evening, with free admission after 5:30 p.m. at the pool.
The Decorah Parks and Recreation Department announced that the water slide will be named "The Nordic Plunge." That name had been suggested by Katrina Allen-Brickley, who gave her prize--the chance to be the first person down the waterslide--to her boss, Decorah Bank's Joe Grimstad.
The evening also included face painting, a bounce tent, music and other activities for kids.
