Jeff e-mails: "Is it true that Devin Humpal has dropped out of the race for County Supervisor in southern Winneshiek County?"
Mr. Answer Person says: "This rumor appears to have started after Humpal didn't show up for a candidate debate last Wednesday (he tells decorahnews.com he had a conflict). Humpal is facing incumbent County Board Chair John Logsdon, who did show up at the debate and answered questions.
Reached Monday by decorahnews.com, Humpal says he's still running for supervisor.
The 4th Supervisor District includes the western and southern edges of the City of Decorah, as well as Calmar, Springfield, MIlitary and Bloomfield Townships in southern Winneshiek County, which include the cities of Spillville, Calmar, Ossian and Castalia. The winner of June 7th's Republican Party primary will face Democrat John Lensch in the November election.
