Site plan for new Fairfield Inn gets approved by city's Planning & Zoning Commission

The City of Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission has unanimously approved the site plan for the new Fairfield Inn & Suites on Highway 9.

Because of the complexity of the project, the site plan had not yet been approved, giving engineers time to present a more complete site plan than the initial plan that was presented.  No changes were made by the Planning & Zoning Commission Monday night.  The site plan now must win Decorah City Council approval next Monday.

City Administrator Chad Bird says there might be one small change in the future--Rebound Hospitality is negotiating with adjoining property owners about a possible rerouting of Short Street and Industrial Lane, to the south of the Fairfield Inn property.
