The man whose body was found Tuesday in a pickup on HIghway 150 south of Calmar has been identified as 27-year-old Anthony Hebert, who apparently was involved in a murder-suicide involving a West Union woman.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to an apartment complex on the west edge of West Union shortly before 9:00 p.m. Monday. They found the body of 27-year-old Morgan Kaye of West Union on the ground outside the complex, killed by a single gunshot.
Reports said a man was seen leaving the scene in a pickup. Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies later found the pickup truck on Highway 150, just south of Calmar. They found Hebert's body inside the truck. He had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies.
