City's Special Traffic Enforcement Program yields results

The Decorah Police Department says its recently-completed Special Traffic Enforcement Program for St. Patrick's Day was a success.

The department reports writing four speeding tickets and issuing seven warnings.  One driver was cited for Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License.

One traffic accident was investigated and one arrest was made for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Before the Special Traffic Enforcement Program 87 percent of drivers observed were wearing seat belts.  After the program, 93 percent of drivers were observed wearing seat belts.
