If the Oneota Film Festival has left you wanting to see more documentaries and short films, you're in luck.
A second, separate film festival will be held in Decorah for ten days near the end of April. The "Up! Up! Film Festival" is a collection of independently produced films and shorts, each exploring questions of farmland access, rural livelihoods and the sustainability of people and place.
For instance, "To Make A Farm" follows five young people who have decided to become small-scale farmers, raising questions about the future of local food and farming, while "Our Land" is a web series of short films about the food system, and efforts to change it.
Admission to the film festival will be free. The films are scheduled at a variety of times in a variety of locations. A schedule of events is available by visiting www.upupdecorah.com.
