Property tax rate going up two percent in the City of Decorah

There was no discussion Monday night at a public hearing about the City of Decorah's 2016-2017 budget.

The spending plan calls for the property tax levy for city government to increase from $13.80 per $1,000 of taxable value this year to $14.09 per $1,000 next year.

No one from the public spoke at the budget hearing and city council members unanimously approved the spending plan.
