Decorah Park-Rec Board begins talking about a dog park

Does Decorah need a dog park?  That's the question being asked by members of the Decorah Parks & Recreation Board.

There has been sporadic interest in such a park in the past, but finding a location for the park and raising the money to pay for fencing have been the stumbling blocks.

Still, Park Board members have begun discussing the issue, including the question of how much property would be needed for such a park.  A one acre property would be ideal, but a somewhat smaller park could work, too.  The size will be determined not only by the availability of land, but by the amount of money raised to pay for fencing.
