This is a story about many people joining together to help raise money to fight breast cancer.
The story started last fall, when a group of NE Iowa residents called :Karsyn's Krusaders" visited a Decorah business--TriTech Software Systems--to put on a grill out.
After the event, TriTech employee Christine McConnell approached a Karsyn's Krusaders board member and said she would like to help the group raise money by making and donating a quilt.
McConnell turned to a group of friends and some Camp Tahigwa volunteers and now after several months a full-sized quilt has been donated to Karsyn's Krusaders.
The Krusaders has contacted Winneshiek County Celebration of Life, which provides a variety of help to someone who is either a Winneshiek County resident or uses a Winneshiek County doctor and they or a family member are in active treatment from any form of cancer.
The full-sized quilt will be raffled off on March 7th. Tickets have gone on sale for $1.00 each, six for $5.00, or 12 for $10.00. Tickets can be purchased at Margaret's in Decorah or The Flower Pot in Calmar. People can also send checks to Karsyn's Krusaders, PO Box 2851, Waterloo, Iowa 50704 and Tami will fill out raffle tickets for you. Be sure to include your address and phone number so you can be contacted if you win. Checks have to be received before the drawing on March 7th.
