


Two accidents late last week each caused over $10,000 in damages.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says 18-year-old Marlon Segura of Postville was making a right turn from Highway 9 onto Centennial Road around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, but he lost control and struck a car being driven by 55-year-old Tim Irvine of Castalia, who had stopped at the Highway 9 stop sign on Centennial Road.
The accident caused $12,000 in damages. Segura was ticketed for Failure to Have Insurance and for Violation of an Instructional Permit.
Just before noon on Friday 19-year-old Hannah Bryant of Eldridge lost control of her car while heading north on Highway 52 near Union Prairie Road south of Decorah. Bryant struck a truck being driven by 57-year-old Jeffrey Verre from Davenport.
Both drivers were tkane by Winneshiek County Ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
The accident caused $10,000 in damages. Bryant was ticketed for Failure to Maintain Control.
