A new ambulance could arrive at Winneshiek Medical Center in July.
The WMC Board Wednesday evening approved spending $208,514 towards a new ambulance from Lifeline. The money will cover the cost of the vehicle plus a power lift to get patients into the ambulance.
Winneshiek Medical Center plans to spend another $20,000 to buy a "Power Cot," which will help stabilize the ride patients get while in the ambulance, and another $5,000 on a radio system, bringing the total cost of the ambulance to around $233,000.
The Winneshiek Medical Center Foundation raises around $130,000 in donations last year for the ambulance. The Foundation Board meets Thursday and will decide how much of the ambulance purchase it will fund.
