Winneshiek County Development asks for $50,000 in county funding

Winneshiek County supervisors are being asked to increase their financial support of Winneshiek County Development.

WCDI Executive Director Stephanie Fromm on Monday presented a request for $50,000 in funding for 2016-2017--$19,000 more than the agency is getting this year from the county.

Fromm told supervisors she has made a point of serving all of Winneshiek County, not just Decorah.  Several city councils have agreed to give money to WCDI for the upcoming year, according to Fromm.

"I want nothing more than to see Winneshiek County grow," she told the supervisors, who complimented her on the job she has done since taking over the position in April.
