As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, gasoline prices in Northeast Iowa are dropping.
The State of Iowa says the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa has dropped 12 cents a gallon to an average of $2.18 per gallon. But a gallon of gasoline is now selling for $2.09 in Decorah and is even lower in other parts of the state. Several Des Moines stations are selling gas at $1.99 a gallon, while a few places in Cedar Rapids are selling gas for $1.91 a gallon and one gas station in Council Bluffs is selling gas for $1.86 a gallon.
Nationwide, the American Automobile Association (AAA) says the price of a gallon of gasoline has dropped 75 cents in the past year.
