


Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies have made two arrests for drunk driving.
23-year-old Andrew Voight of Calmar was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated at 1:17 a.m. Saturday on Highway 150 between Calmar and Festina. 28-year-old Nathan Riese of Waukon was arrested for OWI on Pontoppidan Road near Old Stage Road at 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies also responded to two accidents.
24-year-old Sabrina Larson of Cedar Falls lost control of her car on County Road A-18 near Canton on Saturday, entered the ditch, struck a road sign, spun around and came to rest against an embankment. She was ticketed for having no insurance. The accident caused $1,500 in damages.
32-year-old Sardise Merchant of Fort Atkinson and 22-year-old Dylon Jones of Hawkeye were both traveling on 295th Avenue near Fort Atkinson when the two vehicles sideswiped, causing $8,000 in damages. Merchant's van entered a ditch and came to rest on its passenger side. Jones' car continued north. He was ticketed for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and for driving an unsafe vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.
