For the fifth year in a row, Gundersen Health Plan's Senior Preferred HMO has been awarded the highest five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid.
Medicare reviews hundreds of health plans offering both Part C (medical) and Part D (pharmacy) benefits, measuring the quality of the services provided. It monitors dozens of measures including how often members get screenings, vaccines and check-ups to help them stay healthy; how often members with chronic conditions get tests and treatments to help manage their conditions; and health plan service performance including member satisfaction ratings, complaints and customer service
Every year since inception of Medicare's ratings, Gundersen's Senior Preferred Medicare Advantage has been awarded a five-star rating. Only five plans nationwide have done this and only one in Wisconsin and Iowa.
Plan ratings give consumers a summary score to make it easy to compare plans.
