Decorah High School Commencement ceremonies moved back to 2:00 p.m. May 22nd

The Decorah School Board has approved moving back the start of 2016 Decorah High School Commencement ceremonies to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22nd.

The move was taken because the high school's commencement will be on the same day as the Luther College Commencement, which has gone as late as 1:00 p.m. some years.

School board members were given the option of setting the time at either 2:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m.  School Board president Ron Fadness and other board members favored the 2:00 p.m. starting time so families would have time after the ceremonies for their family gatherings.
