The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says a Waukon woman was injured when a motorcycle went out of control Sunday evening on Middle Calmar Road.
Deputies say 37-year-old Glen Palmer of Waukon was driving his 2004 Harley northbound on the road when a deer ran out onto the highway. Palmer didn't have time to avoid hitting the deer. His wife, 38-year-old Holly Palmer, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center.
In a separate incident, deputies were called to West Ridge Road on Tuesday night around 11:00. After an investigation, 47-year-old Kimmie Henderson of Nashua was arrested on a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.
