"Bushels for Scholars" to help Decorah FFA students

Posted: Wed, Sep 30, 2015 4:57 PM

Bushels of grain donated by area farmers to the Decorah FFA will help the organization's "Bushels for Scholars Program" offer a one-time scholarship to the Decorah High School FFA seniors who plan to pursue further education next fall.

The Decorah FFA says the grain will be collected at any location of Farmers Win Coop, including Decorah, Cresco, Mabel and Ridgeway.  Producers will simply need to tell Farmers Win Coop how many bushels to designate toward the Decorah FFA Bushels for Scholars Program.

Farmers Win Coop will keep track of the amount and value of the donation and will write a check to the Decorah FFA on behalf of the farmer making the donation.  The proceeds from marketing the grain will be divided equally among the senior members in FFA for their college education next fall.

Donors in the program will receive recognition at the annual FFA Banquet on Tuesday, March 29th.
