Vesterheim to hold on-line folk art auction starting Thursday

Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum will host an online benefit auction starting at 12:00 noon Thursday and running until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28th.

The auction includes 50 pieces of one-of-a-kind folk-art by artists working in the Norwegian tradition, including rosemaling painters Sigmund Aarseth, Addie Pittelkow and Ethel Kvalheim.  Additional artwork was created by Vesterheim Gold Medalists and includes rosemaling, beautiful weavings, acanthus carving, figure carving, woodturning, and baskets.

All proceeds from the auction will go to projects directly related to Vesterheim's Folk Art School.
