Crews have begun doing directional boring to install water lines in Frankville--part of a project to create a municipal water system serving the community.
Engineer George Tekippe says the two wells that will feed the system have been drilled. JB Holland Construction of Decorah, which is doing the work, has a deadline of November 15th to have the system operational. Then comes the next phase of the project--installing individual services lines to houses. The speed of that part of the project will depend on the weather in late fall and early spring.
Tekippe says the entire project must be finished by June 15th of next year. He says so far the project is "on schedule."
