


The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says a traffic accident on Highway 52 at County Road A-18 Tuesday morning sent two people to the hospital--one with serious injuries.
58-year-old Rene Prestby from Canton, MInnesota was driving south on Highway 52 shortly before noon on Tuesday when 34-year-old Joseph Olson of Ridgeway pulled out onto the highway from County A-18. Olson was ticketed for Failure to Yield upon entering a roadway.
Prestby was airlifted to Rochester, where a spokesperson for St. Mary's Hospital says she is in "serious" condition.
Olson was ticketed for Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way. His five-year-old son was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center for treatment of cuts.
