


The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department reports it arrested a Calmar man on Friday on charges of 2nd Offense Operating While Intoxicated. 23-year-old Nicholas Minear was pulled over on Highway 52 north of Calmar, then taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.
Decorah Police responded to a traffic accident Friday night on Highway 52 in the construction zone near Madison Road. 47-year-old Dee O'Connell of Prairie Du Chien struck the rear of a car driven by 48-year-old Huisen Guhaad of Postville while it was stopped for a red light. O'Connell said she saw the light was yellow and was not sure what Guhaad was going to do. The accident caused $2,000 in damages, no injuries and no traffic citations.
