Two-car crash Friday afternoon leads to traffic charges

Decorah Police have ticketed 40-year-old Erin Arney of Decorah with Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way following a two-vehicle crash on East Main Street at Day Street shortly after 3:30 Friday afternoon.

Arney told police she was stopped at the stop sign on Day Street and proceeded to cross East Main Street, but did not see a car driven by 63-year-old Anita Schantz of Ft. Atkinson.

The accident caused $5,000 in damages.  Schantz reported possible injury to her knee, but refused medical attention at the scene and drove herself to the hospital.
