


Iowa Governor Terry Branstad on Wednesday appointed two Decorah residents to statewide boards and commissions.
Luther College biology professor Kirk Larsen has been appointed to the State Preserves Advisory Board. The board has seven members, six appointed by the governor plus the director of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Board advises the DNR on acquisition, dedication, and management of state preserves.
Decorah businessman Bill Holland has been appointed to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Advisory Board for the Northeast Region. A total of 47 members comprise the STEM Council from across the state of Iowa. The Council's purpose is to boost STEM education and innovation in Iowa.
