It was a celebration Saturday for supporters of the project to extend Trout Run Trail to Freeport.
With construction underway on the project, representatives from Trails From Freeport gathered with officials from Wal-Mart and from Wellmark. Wal-Mart sold two acres of land behind its store to the project, while Wellmark selected the Freeport Trail to receive a $7,500 grant as part of a regional contest.
Wellmark's Traci McBee and Walmart's Mitch Link were on hand Saturday to pose for pictures with the Freeport Trail supporters.
