Vesterheim Museum this summer will be offering free admission to military members

Vesterheim Museum says it will be offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The free admission is part of the "Blue Star Museums" program, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and museums across America.

For the sixth year in a row, Vesterheim is joining more than 2,000 museums in all 50 states in thanking military personnel and their families for their service and sacrifice.

A Vesterheim official says the museum is happy to be welcoming the soldiers to explore immigrant history and folk art through the lens of Norwegian Americans.
