Posted: Sun, May 10, 2015 6:53 PM

New York Times bestselling author, humorist and radio show host Michael Perry will be visiting Decorah June 2nd.

Perry's bestselling memoirs include "Population 485," "Truck: A Love Story," Coop," and "Visiting Tom."  His first book for young readers, "The Scavengers," was published in 2014.  His first novel for adult readers, "The Jesus Cow," is being released this month.

Perry lives with his wife and two daughters in rural Wisconsin, where he serves on the local volunteer fire and rescue service and is an intermittent pig farmer.  He hosts the nationally-syndicated "Tent Show Radio," performs widely as a humorist and tours with his band the "Long Beds" (currently recording their third album for Amble Down Records).

Dragonfly Books and the Decorah Public Library are co-sponsoring Perry's appearance 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 2nd, at the Carrie Lee Elementary Auditorium.  Perry will speak and then sign books.  Dragonfly Books will also reserve a book and have it autographed by Perry for anyone who cannot attend June 2nd's appearance.

This event is sponsored by Dragonfly Books and the Decorah Public Library and is free and open to the public.
