The Palomar College Symphony on Friday night will premiere the "Decorah Bald Eagle Violin Concerto," a 14-minute composition written by Palomar professor Madelyn Byrne.
The San Diego Union Tribune says the piece has four sections, one for each season in a year of the birds' lives. The autumn section describes the eagles repairing their nest. The winter section is highlighted by a storm. The spring section focuses on the eaglets. The summer finale follows the juvenile eagles as they leave the nest.
During Friday's performance, a multimedia show of photos of the Decorah eagles will play.
