


Luther College's "Launching Luther Leaders" program has announced the recipients of its third annual Student Leadership Awards.
Luther College Dance Marathon earned the "Outstanding Service Project Award." Luther College Dance Marathon riases money to help children being treated at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. Last year Dance Marathon raised $38,600. This year it raised $57,103. The success of this service project is due to the combined effort of more than 500 student dancers.
The "Outstanding Event/Activity Award" was presented to Student Senate for Happiness Week, a week that empowers student organizations across campus to plan events that are centered on spreading happiness. Not only does it empower organizations to work together, it increases happiness on campus.
The "Outstanding Leader Award" was presented to Maia Pugh, the captain of Freya, Luther's Women's Ultimate Frisbee team. Pugh is also in charge of Hola-Enlaces and is employed by the Admissions Office.
