


A fire was detected at Decorah High School around 11:00 Monday night. Workers reported the alarm going off. They discovered a fire in the building near the weight room. A dryer was found to be on fire. School staff extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher.
Members of the Decorah Fire Department arrived and ventilated the building. No injuries were reported. Minimal damage was done to the building. The clothes dryer was a total loss.
Decorah firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half. Those assisting the Decorah Fire department included Decorah school staff, Decorah Police department and Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance.
