Decorah Education Association opening offer begins 2015-16 Master Contract negotiations

The Decorah Education Association has presented its first offer to the Decorah Community School Board in the process of establishing a master contract for the 2015-16 school year.

The offering seeks a $665 increase on base salary, and translates to a 4.3 percent total package increase (health insurance, salary, and salary steps). They requested the same health insurance package as last year.

This comes at a time when the Iowa Legislature remains deadlocked on educational funding. The two groups will meet again Thursday afternoon when the District presents its first counter offer.
