The Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau has begun is annual membership drive. The drive will culminate in May with a social hosted by Luther College during National Tourism Week.
Tourism continues to grow in Winneshiek County. $296,395 in hotel/motel tax was collected during the 2014 fiscal year in Decorah, representing a 2.3 percent increase over the previous year.
"Tourism development does not happen in a vacuum, it takes the entire community to build a sustainable tourism economy," said WCCVB Director Charlene Selbee.
Dues are from $150 to $250--an increase from previous dues, since fees have not been increased since the mid-1990s.
