The Iowa All State Festival Concert will air on Iowa Public TV at 7:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving and at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. If you watch the broadcast, you'll see several Decorah HS musicians--including two who will have solos.
Decorah High School seniors Parker Fretheim and Adam Knight were selected to sing solos with the 603-member Iowa All State Chorus. The two submitted audition recordings in late October to state music officials. On November 5th they were notified that they were semi-finalists for solos in two songs and would audition for the All State Chorus conductor, Wartburg College's Dr. Lee Nelson. Fretheim and Knight were both featured in the Iowa All-State Choir's performance of "Noel" by Brad Holmes. Knight was also featured in Haydn's "The Heavens are Telling."
