


Luther College has a new Human Resources Director.
Marsha Wenthold, who had been serving as the college's interim HR director, has been named permanent HR Director. She succeeds Lora Steil, who died in May of this year.
Wenthold has worked at Luther College since 1989--as associate human resources director from 2013-14, benefits specialist from 2011-13 and administrative assistant from 2003-2011. She also worked in Luther's accounts payable department as a purchasing clerk from 1989-2003.
Wenthold graduated summa cum laude from Upper Iowa University with a bachelor's degree in business. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, holds a certification in Human Resources Management and is Title IX coordinator certified.
The director of Human Resources is responsible for managing all aspects of human resources including classification; compensation and benefits; employee relations; recruitment and selection, training and development; performance management; retirement and taxes. The position also oversees developing and enhancing policies and procedures, preparing analyses and reports, overseeing HR information systems and data management, and interpreting laws and regulations, and advising the college administration and employees regarding the same.
