10:30PM: John Beard wins race for District 1 Supervisor

The votes are in--and Democrat John Beard has defeated incumbent Republican Dennis Karlsbroten in Winneshiek County's Supervisor District 1.

Karlsbroten won Precinct #1, 282 votes to 201 votes, but Beard won by almost 200 votes in Precinct #2, 796 to 602.

That gave Beard 997 votes to Karlsbroten's 884 votes, or 53 percent to 47 percent.
