first on decorahnews.com: Consumer Reports ranks Gundersen Health Plan among the best in Iowa and U.S.

Consumer Reports has joined with the National Committee for Quality Assurance, a non-profit quality measurement and accreditation organization, to rank over 500 private insurance plans countrywide.

The results have just been published in the magazine's November issue.  They rank Gundersen Health Plan, which serves people in Northeast Iowa, as the second best private health insurance plan in Iowa and the 73rd best plan nationwide.

The survey also gives Gundersen the highest possible rating for customer satisfaction and praises the work the HMO is doing to avoid overuse of emergency rooms, heart procedures, antibiotics and imaging tests.
