KCCI-TV in Des Moines has reported that the Cardinal School District in Wapello County in southern Iowa has outfitted all its buses with high-speed, wireless Internet (http://www.kcci.com/news/school-adds-highspeed-internet-on-all-buses/28157450) That has prompted this Letter to the Editor from John Carver of Decorah:
(not only has the school district outfitted its buses with high-speed, wireless Internet), it's also giving students in grades 6 through 12 tablet computers loaded with educational apps and games.
I sure hope Decorah doesn't do this (wishful thinking).
It would appear that many students have internet at home.
They all have it at school for practical purposes.
Providing it on a school bus is like taking it to bed at night so they can do it 24/7. This has to be pushing the envelope too far. Some bright person(s) should be able to come up with something more constructive. Like saving money that is in sort supply.
