


The local chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has announced plans to hold a forum featuring candidates for U.S. Congress, the Iowa legislature and Winneshiek County board of supervisors.
The forum will take place Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in room 206 of Valdes Hall on the Luther College campus.
Invitations have been sent to U.S. Senate candidates Bruce Braley and Joni Ernst; U.S. House of Representatives candidates Rod Blum and Pat Murphy; Iowa Assembly District 51 candidates Josh Brynes and Laura Hubka; Iowa Assembly District 55 candidates Darrel Branhagen and Rick Edwards; Winneshiek County supervisor District 1 candidates John Beard and Dennis Karlsbroten and Winneshiek County supervisor District 2 candidates Floyd Ashbacher and Barbara Massman.
Candidates will give a brief introduction of their backgrounds, qualifications and reasons for seeking office. Each will then respond to written questions from the audience, screened by a committee of the sponsors. All questions will be asked by moderator Cathy Baldner.
There is no cost to attend and the public is welcome.
