Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer Linda Klimesh will be retiring from her position on December 19th, it was announced Wednesday.

Linda began her nursing career at Winneshiek Medical Center in 1978.  She has held many roles at WMC, beginning as a staff and charge nurse on the Medical/Surgical and Special Care units, and then transitioning to the position of Director of Quality Management before being appointed as Chief Nursing Officer.

Klimesh has earned several honors during her 35 years at the hospital.  She was been named one of 100 Great Iowa Nurses last year--the first Winneshiek Medical Center nurse to receive this award.  She also was nominated for the Mayo Health System's Mae Berry Award for Service Excellence, which recognizes allied health staff members who provide exemplary service.
