The dedicated hospice patient room at Winneshiek Medical Center has new furnishings, thanks to a donation by Don White of Decorah, in memory of his wife, Bev.
The hospice patient room is available for hospice patients needing acute symptom management or respite care. It provides a home-like atmosphere, with additional seating and bedroom furniture. Nurses on the in-patient unit collaborate with Winneshiek Medical Center hospice staff in providing care to the patient and meeting the family's needs.
White's donation provided for a wardrobe, night stand, rocker/recliner, curtains and artwork. Says White, "The furniture is nice and will be comfortable for the families visiting patients. I'm glad to be able to help others in Bev's memory."
