Former Luther College Development Director dies

Albert B. Anderson, in 1983

86-year-old Albert Bernt Anderson of Laporte, Minnesota, has died.

Anderson was hired as Luther College Vice President for Institutional Advancement in January of 1983 after serving six years as  President of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina.

Anderson was one of several administrators hired by H. George Anderson, who was just beginning his time as Luther College President then.  Besides Albert Anderson, Thomas Kraabel was hired as Dean of the College in January of 1983 and Robert Shoffner was hired at the same time as Assistant for Administration, with long-range planning responsibilities.

After leaving Luther College, Anderson spent time at several other religiously-affiliated colleges in administrative positions.
