Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds will be in Northeast Iowa on Thursday.
In addition to a visit to a dairy in Waukon and an appearance at a banquet in Decorah Thursday night, the two will visit Cresco at 5:00 p.m. Friday to formally announce that Cresco has become only the second Veteran Friendly community to be certified as a Home Based Iowa community.
The Home Base Iowa Communities initiative designates communities as centers of opportunity for military veterans. A community becomes certified after it develops its own welcome/incentive package for veterans.
