


It could have been worse.
Despite getting as much as five inches of rain near Ossian, Winneshiek County roads are in pretty good shape Friday. Just three roads are closed: 177th Street near MIddle Calmar Road, where a culvert washed out; 185th Avenue outside of Ossian; and 162nd Avenue off Sand Road.
A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1:15 p.m. Friday for the southern part of Winneshiek County. However, the Turkey River at Spillville has already crested and was headed back down at 8 feet as of Friday morning and the Upper IOwa River remained below flood stage at Decorah.
