Eight streets in the City of Decorah will get a new look this summer.
City council members have approved a 2014 Street Improvement Project list that includes Riverview Drive, North Street, Julian Street, Sumner Street, Monroe Street, Grant Street, Fifth Street and West Street.
The streets will have asphalt milled. A new asphalt overlay then will be placed over the entire street.
Milling will take place ahead of the asphalt work and will typically take half a day to complete.Asphalt work will follow, in some cases not immediately, but streets will be useable in the interim period. Asphalt work also will take approximately half a day.
The Julian Street intersection with Heivly Street will be reconstructed as well. This will result in some traffic detours.
