Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff says March was a good month for the hospital--primarily because the number of patients at the hospital and clinic increased.
Luloff reports that Winneshiek Medical Center had an operating gain of $172,826 in March on total operating revenue of $4,367,174 and total operating expenses of $4,194,348.
The hospital's financial performance has improved by 7.4 percent from the corresponding period last year.
Luloff says the hospital has operated on a margin of 1.57 percent in the first seven months of its fiscal year--which is sharply better than the average for Critical Access Hospitals in Iowa, which lost 2.42 percent overall.
