Decorah man sentenced on four counts of Third Degree Sexual Abuse

35-year-old Jerome Sanderson of Decorah has plead guilty to four counts of 3rd Sex Abuse.  Sanderson allegedly engaged in sex acts with a victim aged 14-15 years old during a relationship lasting from the fall of 2012 through the summer of 2013, according to Decorah Police.

On Tuesday Sanderson was sentenced to $5,400 in fines and 40 years in prison.  However, the prison term was waived and Sanderson was placed on probation for up to 5 years.  He will also be sent to a residential treatment facility for up to one year.

Other penalties imposed on Sanderson are the loss of voting privileges, electronic monitoring during his probation and a listing on Iowa's sex offender registry.
