


Remember when City of Decorah officials urged homeowners to run their faucets this winter in order to avoid water line freeze-ups? Part of the message to homeowners was that they wouldn't be charged for their extra water use.
City Clerk Wanda Hemesath says the city has kept that promise--and has written off $5,900 in water bill charges so far. Hemesath says there will be one more set of bills that will get adjustments before everything returns to normal.
