It could be the first time ever that a home in Decorah has been put on the market for more than $1 million.
The home at 1674 Viking Hills Road carries a price tag of $1,085,000. Until now, the highest price ever paid for a single family home in Decorah is the $725,000 paid for a house on Grandview Road. Another Decorah home on Prospect Street brought in $650,000.
The home on Viking Hills Road has four bedrooms and two and 3/4ths baths. It also includes more than 10 acres of property.
The all brick home has more than 5,250 square feet of space. The kitchen has "classically crafted cabinetry and pantries," stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
The master bedroom suite includes a master bath complete with his & her vanities, a bathtub for two and a European spa shower.
The finished lower level has a total entertainment area, a bar and an exercise room. The lower level also has a large 4-car heated garage.
Decorah realtor Mike Harman, whose company is listing the home, says he believes the home on Grandview Road--which his company also listed--had an original list price of just under $1 million and that the Viking Hills Road home features the highest list price ever for a home in Decorah.
